Visaginas is the youngest city in Lithuania, settled on the shore of beautiful Lake Visaginas, surrounded by the pines. Original City architecture makes a splendid harmony with the flora and verdure. Living houses form peculiar closed courtyards, filled with sunlight, cloaked in silence, protected against wind and traffic. 

The recreational zone has a beach complex with several sports grounds. Lake Visaginas is embellished with little isles, which can be reached by rented boats or water bicycles. A new pontoon bridge is a decoration of our beach. A little bit further – a splendid stadium, behind it – wonderful tennis courts.

Often exhibitions, concerts are carried out, the centres of culture prepare evenings of rest.

In park zone of Visaginas is equipped good roller-skates line. The bicycle paths are equipped in all city. There are working a round year swimming pools and saunas. In the winter it is possible to rent ski.

From different directions city surround the nature: pines, birches and fur-trees. In lowlands the alder grows. It is a lot of mushrooms in vicinities of Visaginas. Fans of  "mushroom hunting" in the summer come back home with full baskets of butter, aspen mushrooms, birch mushrooms, and on autumn – honey agarics and black milk mushrooms. Local woods are rich with berries – a bilberry, wild strawberry, a raspberry, a blackberry and a cowberry. Elks, hares, hedgehogs, beavers, foxes and squirrels are found in neighbouring woods.

The area of lake Visaginas – 219,6 ha, greatest depth – 6,6 m. From it follows river with the same name. About in 1,5-2 kms from city large lake Smalvos, and in 4-4,5 kms to north-west  Drukshiai lake is located. In lakes there is enough pike, dace, tench, crucian, bream and other fish. Amateur fishy catching is here permitted. This is perfect place of rest, fishing, sport as in the summer, and in the winter.
