The club under the management of a pilot Jonas Burokas was established in 1995. Within these years hundreds of experienced parachutists and just extreme-lovers have jumped out of an aircraft. The parachutist instructor Jan Chaplinskij, who has more than 4,000 jumps on his account, is in charge of parachutist training. The pilot Aleks Petrikas pilots a sporting airplane AN-2.

The season of jumps out of a plane and flying by plane over the landscape of marvelous beauty in the Zarasai district and in the Ignalina National Park begins in May-April and finishes in October.

Members of Zarasai Aviation Parachuting Club take an active part in local and national festivals, always enrapturing audience with customary ecstasy. They are also among constant participants of the International Country Music Festival in Visaginas, when they arrive at the height of merriment, falling down straight from the sky. It is no trouble at all for a master-virtuoso to land sharply on a marked target. Therefore, they are often invited to celebrations and asked to deliver in an extravagant manner a bouquet of flowers to a hero of the occasion or a prize to a winner of the competition. Despite a well-known opinion that parachuting sport is sport for true men, there are some girls among club members too. It is worth to mention that no one parachutist has been seriously injured for almost 10 years of the club activity.

The free fall speed of a human body reaches 50-60 m/sec or 180-200 km/hour. Before a parachute opens, which is necessary to slow down and have soft landing, a parachutist is able to move in the air, using his arms and legs for steering. One spends relatively short time in the free fall. While jumping from the height of 4,000 m the speed estimates about 60 sec. By the way, exactly for this reason parachutists claim to be watching their most favourite film for short 60 sec. However, it is plenty of time for a pro to demonstrate what his capacity is.

The approximate price of the first jump – 1oo €
