The Aukštaitija will soon celebrate its 30th birthday, and the best present anyone could give it is a lick of paint and some new furniture. On the bright side, the reception staff are cheery, it‘s warm in the winter and the hot water taps have never told a lie in their lives. The restaurant is impressive too, and as with all of these bygone blasts to the past, the whole place is spotlessly clean. So, not that bad really. The luxury rooms are just larger versions of the standards by the way, so don‘t waste your money on one of those.

A group of serviced apartments in an idyllic wooded setting by a lake, complete with conference facilities and all manner of other super add-on extras. Owned by the Ignalina NPP, there remains some confusion as to whether those not connected with the nuclear industry can stay there. Some staff say yes, others say no. Whatever, it‘s recommended that one should at least give them a call to see how the situation stands. If you have any luck, find it on the way in/out of town between the two blue Ramybės bus stops.
